Georgia Farm Bureau (GFB) will launch its first 12-month Federation Ambassador Program in 2023. After a successful pilot program in the fall of 2022, GFB is expanding the program to a year-long commitment. Over the course of the next year, ambassadors will work alongside GFB staff, assisting in the execution of several member recruitment and brand awareness campaigns. GFB is accepting applications for the 2023 program through 11:59 p.m. Jan. 6, 2023.
This new program is part of a greater campaign to promote GFB membership to consumers.
“We want Georgians, especially the next generation, to know us as more than just an insurance company,” said Slayten Carter, GFB membership acquisition manager. “We want our story to be told, and our ambassadors will help deliver that message to new audiences.”
Pilot program ambassadors include: Sage Barlow of Fayette County; Allison Cook of Henry County; Gracie Grimes of Candler County; Abbie O’Steen of Coffee County; Lorene Parker of Polk County; Bailey Rayfield of Cook County; Blake Segars of Franklin County; and Kylie Whitworth of Madison County. Many pilot program ambassadors will stay on to serve in the 2023 year.
New candidates looking to join the program will be chosen based on their interpersonal skills, passion for agriculture advocacy, public speaking ability, and overall enthusiasm. Applicants must be over the age of 18 to apply and must be able to commit to a year of service. Upon selection, ambassadors will also be asked to attend an in-person orientation at the GFB office in Macon.
Each ambassador will be expected to work events throughout the year, including GFB Day at the Capitol, the Georgia National Fair, Sunbelt Ag Expo and more. Some events, like the Georgia National Fair, will be mandatory while others will be optional.
Applications can be found online at www.gfb.ag/ambassadors. The deadline to apply is 11:59 p.m., January 6, 2023. Qualified candidates will be contacted after all applications have been submitted and reviewed. Selected candidates will be notified before the end of January.
