The Equine Disease Communication Center reported Aug. 6 that multiple cases of Eastern equine encephalitis (EEE) in Georgia horses.  The cases were confirmed in the following counties: Bleckley, Colquitt, Cook, Lowndes, Jenkins, and Wayne.

Cows help police catch suspect (WALB-TV)
The bovine assist started after a stolen SUV crashed near a pasture during a chase.  Video from a police helicopter shows a herd of around 16 cattle chasing the driver around the pasture.  The cows eventually cornered her at a fence, where officers arrested her.

UGA Coastal Georgia Botanical Garden honors Frank Williams for his unmatched work ethic (UGA CAES)
After more than 30 years, Frank Williams has retired from his position as the groundskeeper for the University of Georgia Coastal Georgia Botanical Garden (CGBG) at the Historic Bamboo Farm, but he still works there three days a week. Even at 75, he hasn’t slowed down.
