Event Promotion: Checklist and Resources

Hosting an Event? It's important to get the word out!

Here’s a checklist of ideas you can consider.  Make sure to start the process early so you have plenty of time to get your materials in.

Important Reminder: All promotional material must be within GFB Brand Guidelines, including fonts and colors. This includes event programs, fliers, invitations, giveaways, and more.

 

Promotion Ideas To Consider

  • Promotional fliers – GFB has a world-class design team that will produce brand-approved designs fast and free. They can help you create fliers, post cards, rack cards and more. Before starting on the design, you’ll need to know the specifics of the project. Click here to learn more about printing options at Home Office.
  • Signage – From yard signs to vinyl banners to window clings, signs can really help get the word out about an event. Some signs can be printed at Home Office, but in many cases you may need a 3rd party vendor. Check Vistaprint for options and pricing.
  • Email to Members – Send an email to let your members know about the event. Emails are sent to the email addresses we have on file for members in your county.
  • Mailer to Members – You can mail a letter or postcard to all members inviting them to the event. Put in a project request to speak with someone about your options.
  • Invitations, Programs and Other Print Material to Be Distributed - All print material needs to be within GFB Branding Guidelines (Contact Info/PR for approval). The GFB Print Shop can meet many of your print needs.
  • T-Shirts and Giveaways - All branded items need to be in GFB colors and use GFB fonts. We highly recommend Strategic Promotions and Magnolia Loom for branded giveaways.
  • Local Advertisement - Depending on your community, advertising may be a cost-effective method way to build awareness.

Printing Options Available for County Offices

  • Basic Copies – if you need to print more than 250 copies, Home Office will provide those to you free of charge. Initiate that request here. The copies will be sent via courier; Please allow 2 weeks to receive the copies.
  • Print Projects – the GFB Print Shop can meet many of your printing needs, including post cards, bound programs, and more. We recommend checking with Print Shop first, and if they cannot accommodate the need, check Vistaprint.com.
