GFB employees donated new toys for the annual Kids Yule Love toy drive. Kids Yule Love is a nonprofit organization focused on helping bring a merry Christmas to local underprivileged children and seniors in nursing homes. Kids Yule Love provides, toys, gifts and Bibles to send a message of hope, love and inspiration.
A check for $5,000 was recently presented to Laura Paxton of United in Pink. The funds were raised by the Employee Relations Committee through casual day sales. United in Pink is a support group committed to enhancing the quality of life for breast cancer survivors and their families. All of United in Pink’s programs and services are offered at no charge and have no barriers to access.
GFB, with the help of its employees and casual day sales, made a $20,000 donation to the Beverly Olson Children’s Hospital. The ribbon cutting ceremony for the facility is scheduled for February 2019.

Several GFB employees and their families participated in the 9th annual Project Giving Retro Night Glow 5K/10K/1 Mile Fun Run on Sept. 15th. Project Giving, Inc. is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization that “builds bridges of hope” for people in need in the Middle Georgia Community. Project Giving is 100% volunteer-driven and volunteers work from their homes.
A check for $5,000 was presented to the American Cancer Society (ACS) recently. The funds were raised by the Employee Relations Committee through casual day sales for the fourth quarter of 2017.
A check for $5,000 was presented to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). The AFSP is a voluntary health organization that gives those affected by suicide a nationwide community empowered by research, education and advocacy to take action against this leading cause of death. The money was raised by the Employee Relations Committee through casual day sales.

Members of the Employee Relations Committee are pictured with supplies for the Macon Rescue Mission. Food and sundries were donated by GFB employees during a week-long drive. Pat Chastain, CEO and President of the Rescue Mission, said the donated supplies filled the shortfall the Mission experienced for their Christmas meal, saying “the Mission was very thankful for GFB’s faithfulness and we love you guys with all our hearts.”

RESCUE MISSION OF MIDDLE GEORGIA FREEZER DONATION

A check for $5,000 was presented to the Autism Center, Navicent Health. The donation was raised through casual day sales by the Employee Relations Committee and will help cover services from the Therapeutic Learning Center and the cost of treatment not covered by insurance (co-pay and deductibles).
Georgia Farm Bureau presented a check for $10,000 to Children’s Hospital Navicent Health on March 21st. The hospital has provided the highest quality, personalized, child-friendly pediatric care in middle Georgia for almost 30 years. Serving primarily 29 counties, they provide services that include pediatric physician coverage 24 hours a day, a pediatric intensive care unit staffed by physicians specializing in pediatric critical care and the region’s only Level III neonatal intensive care unit. The hospital also features specially certified nurses and Child Life Specialists trained in patient care and the psycho-social needs of their families.
Georgia Farm Bureau donated a re-purposed outdoor walk-in cooler to the Rescue Mission of Middle Georgia to aid in their outreach program. Since 1952, with the help of its generous donors, the Rescue Mission has provided residential shelter and meals to those in need in the Middle Georgia community, changing the lives of thousands of men, women, and children for over 60 years. These donors have helped the Mission “provide a path of hope, redemption, and empowerment through Jesus Christ.”

Georgia Farm Bureau presented a check for $10,000 to Navicent Health Foundation on April 8. Formerly Medcen Community Health Foundation, the group provides support to the Central Georgia Health System including the charitable efforts of Navicent Health, The Children’s Hospital Navicent Health, Cancer Life Center and Central Georgia Rehabilitation Hospital. The foundation also funds charities that address community health needs and focuses on disease prevention, health promotion and wellness education.
Georgia Farm Bureau presented a check to Toni Henson-Slade of Project Giving, a non-profit local charity that helps support people who are going through difficult financial times due to medical issues. The money was raised through casual day sales.

Georgia’s 158 county Farm Bureau chapters and home office contributed $20,000, which was presented to Georgia Food Bank Director Danah Craft during Georgia Farm Bureau’s 77th Annual Convention on Jekyll Island.

The Georgia Farm Bureau Employee Relations Committee raised $2,787 through casual day sales for Camp Little Shot. Camp Little Shot provides a free summer camp for diabetic children from the ages of 6 to 18 to play and have fun with others who face the same challenges they face
GFB recently held a bandage drive for the Children’s Hospital at the Medical Center of Central Georgia.
