May 1 is deadline to apply for Centennial Farm Award

Is your farm at least 100 years old? If so, it is probably eligible for one of three awards the Georgia Centennial Farm program awards each fall.

The Centennial Family Farm Award recognizes farms owned by members of the same family for at least 100 years. The Centennial Heritage Farm Award honors farms that are listed in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) and owned by the same family for 100 years or more. The Centennial Farm Award doesn’t require continual family ownership, but farms must be at least 100 years old and listed in the NRHP.
